Russia’s Zvezda says asks for subsidies from Industry Ministry

VLADIVOSTOK, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s shipbuilding complex Zvezda is negotiating subsidies with the Industry and Trade Ministry, Zvezda’s Managing Director Sergei Tseluiko told reporters on Friday.

“We are holding these negotiations now, we’ve submitted relevant calculations to the Industry and Trade Ministry,” he said, without disclosing the sum that the company had requested.

A consortium led by oil major Rosneft is creating shipbuilding complex Zvezda basing on Far Eastern shipyard Zvezda under a ruling of President Vladimir Putin. The complex is to build large-capacity ships, icebreaker-class ships, special ships, and other types of vessels. As of today, Zvezda’s order portfolio stands at 38 ships.
